We can distinguish two main product groups. The Bespoke and the DIY.
DIY Splashbacks are available in standard sizes ranging between £50-£400 depending on the quality, colour, design and size.
Remember, that you don't want to change your splashback in a years time because of the paint peeling off...it's very complicated to take it off. A good quality Splashback should come with 10 years warranty and shouldn't be see-through.
Bespoke Kitchen Glass Splashbacks are like the mighty brother of this family. It is not so straight forward to tell you the price though, this is not an "of the shelf products".
Here is the brief costs breakdown calculation:
1.Total glass surface area - per square meters, usually 6mm, low iron, toughened and polished glass.
2.Than you have to budget yourself for CNC cut outs for all the sockets
3.Professional measuring & templating -Very important! You cannot further adjust any toughened glass. Don't underestimate this step thinking you or your builder could do it.
4. Installation- also very tricky as no walls are ever straight and you want to neatly seal the gaps between the worktop and the glass panels.
5. Delivery- you can pick it up but the fitter would deliver it anyway
6. Adhesive- It's not expensive, so just get it. This must always be a compatible and not just any silicone adhesive as it would eat the glass pait away in few months time and you would end up with marks following the silicone blobs.
Once the glass is cut and ready to install it takes literally minutes to fitt in place and your kitchen looks like the one from a magazine!
