The Art of Glass

As a tradition, art on glass has often come in the form of windows. However in recent years a new art form has begun to emerge; classical stained glass is being outshone by new technologies which are allowing designers to experiment with countless new colours and textures, creating breathtakingly intricate masterpieces.

Our own designers in particular are always advancing towards bringing these magnificent creations to the home. Nowadays one of the best ways to spark interest in a room is to decorate it with some contemporary art, but has it ever become functional?

At CreoGlass, we are constantly testing out new ideas for splashback designs. After all, a kitchen tends to be the hub for action in the house, so why not let it make a lasting impression with a fascinating one-off splashback, for complete originality.

Some of our most interesting designs are those that experiment with texture. For example the ink splatter effect, which would fit right in with a black & white/chrome themed kitchen, or the sample to the right- which is perfect for the modern home with it's seemingly 'frozen-in-time' water droplets. This has real depth which gives it a different look depending on your position and the lighting.

So if you are looking to rejuvenate your kitchen, but are tired of seeing the same bland showroom, then it may be worth breaking out of the ordinary with something 100% unique. We can create bespoke pieces to suit your every need, as we pride ourselves on our specially developed coating technology which allows us to combine art, fashion, and practicality. If you'd like, you can even bring in your own artwork and we will help transform it into a stunning statement piece for your kitchen, giving it the attention it deserves. Feel free to contact us for more details; we are happy to help with any questions you may have, and give advice should you need it when choosing your dream kitchen.

New Designs- Mirror Effect Artistic Splashbacks

We always strive to stay ahead of the trends in this competitive market, which is why we are extremely excited to unveil the latest creation to come from CreoGlass studios. Ivana Fricova, our design director, has prepared this beautiful prototype for our client. Our customers are thrilled with our bespoke glass applications exclusively made to order, and this new piece is particularly innovative in design.

Using different layers of colour to show new depths to the glass, and mirror segments to add bright contrast, this sample is a real work of art. This stunning piece can be recreated in other colours too, and is just one of many new patterns we are aim to release in the near future.

If you would like to see this sample (and others) in the flesh, where you can better appreciate how it might look in your own kitchen, please visit us at our showroom in Watford. Likewise, if you are interested in having an original art splashback created exclusively for you, contact us with any ideas you may have and we’d love to see if we can make them a reality for you!

Choosing the Right Colour for Your Glass Splashback

When choosing a kitchen it is important to look for something that will stand the test of time- it should last 10-15 years, so the colour scheme has to be one you’ll be happy with for a long while. It can be quite daunting to find a place to start when designing your new room and it can be tricky to know which combinations will work cohesively. Choosing the right balance of colours and materials can be a difficult decision, but when it comes to picking a glass splashback, we at CreoGlass are here to help.
Splashbacks are ideal for their durability and how easy they are to clean, but they can also be a statement piece for your kitchen- something that can really make an impression on the room.

Things to consider are that large kitchens are often in need of breaking up one colour or surface, whereas a small kitchen does not necessarily need an array of different colours. There are several different options when choosing a style for your splashback, for example, you could pick from any of our array of elegant standard colours, or you could even add some sparkle for a real wow-factor.

Standard Colours

Here at Creoglass we distinguish Standard Colours as the Solid Colours from international colour guides such as British Standard, Pantone, RAL, Farrow & Ball, Dulux, Laura Ashley, NCS, etc. You can pick any of these colours and we can match them exactly for your splashback, or you can look through our own sample books (available from our showroom in Watford). Our Vibrant Colours range contains exciting shades spanning from Canary yellow to Telemagenta pink, whereas our newer Subtle Colours collection, consists of a stunning selection of pastel tones like the exotic Moroccan Sands or the calm & relaxed Bracken Salts.

Luxury Collection

Any of our standard colours can be mixed with subtle sparkles for a more luminescent effect; however, if you’re looking for something even bolder, you might want to try our Luxury Collection. A unique technological coating process allows us to achieve a beautiful granite look, exclusive to Creoglass. Its impressive deep structure design and wide range of shimmering colours is created using metal elements, natural minerals, and a variety of pigmented crushed minerals, to develop a look that will be an impressive addition to any kitchen.

These are just a few of the options we have available for renovating your home, but there are also many more on offer. Please feel free to make an appointment to visit us at our showroom, where we would be happy to help you with any questions you may have, and give expert advice on choosing the right colour scheme for your new kitchen. We hope to help you move a step forward in designing a kitchen that will meet your every want and need, and keep you and your family happy for years to come.

Cost of Glass Kitchen Splashbacks

The Cost of Glass Splashback!

We can distinguish two main product groups. The Bespoke and the DIY.

DIY Splashbacks are available in standard sizes ranging between £50-£400 depending on the quality, colour, design and size.
Remember, that you don't want to change your splashback in a years time because of the paint peeling off...it's very complicated to take it off. A good quality Splashback should come with 10 years warranty and shouldn't be see-through.

Bespoke Kitchen Glass Splashbacks are like the mighty brother of this family. It is not so straight forward to tell you the price though, this is not an "of the shelf products".
Here is the brief costs breakdown calculation:

1.Total glass surface area - per square meters, usually 6mm, low iron, toughened and polished glass.

2.Than you have to budget yourself for CNC cut outs for all the sockets

3.Professional measuring & templating -Very important! You cannot further adjust any toughened glass. Don't underestimate this step thinking you or your builder could do it.

4. Installation- also very tricky as no walls are ever straight and you want to neatly seal the gaps between the worktop and the glass panels.

5. Delivery- you can pick it up but the fitter would deliver it anyway

6. Adhesive- It's not expensive, so just get it. This must always be a compatible and not just any silicone adhesive as it would eat the glass pait away in few months time and you would end up with marks following the silicone blobs.

Once the glass is cut and ready to install it takes literally minutes to fitt in place and your kitchen looks like the one from a magazine!

No mess! For more information visit my website www.creoglass.co.uk or send me an email.
