Tiles VS. Glass Splashbacks
Tiles have been the popular choice for kitchens and bathrooms for many years, but recently people are starting to see the benefits of using glass splashbacks instead. We've listed some to help you decide whether they'll be right for you:
- More durable: often over time tiles may start to become worn, or an individual one may crack/fall off. By this point it's probably impossible to get an exact replacement, leaving you with no choice but to re-tile the whole room. With a glass splashback, we at CreoGlass offer a 10 year guarantee, proving that you will be very happy with the product, and won't need to replace it, for many years. We are also now offering to take down and dispose of old tiles when you replace it with a CreoGlass Splashback!
- Easier to clean: with a glass splashback it's a smooth surface that's easy to wipe down on a regular basis, making them little effort to maintain, whereas with tiles, you may often find yourself scrubbing away at the dirt in the corners, or trying to clean to grout (which can even form mould) holding them together.
- Reflective surfaces: a glass splashback is one of the easiest ways to brighten up a room; reflections create an optical illusion of extra light and space in a room.
- Tailored to you: tiles come in standard sizes, and whilst this makes them easy to pick up in a shop, it does make it difficult when fitting them in a room as you may have to cut some down to meet the corners. With a glass splashback, we can measure it exactly to your needs, taking into account your cabinets, cupboards, extractor fans etc.
- The look: splashbacks look a lot more seamless than tiles, which often don't look very integrated in a kitchen. For a modern, sleek finish, we recommend glass splashbacks all the way. With an seemingly infinite amount of colours and designs to choose from, and the guarantee of long lasting practicality and durability, glass really is the way forward for kitchens and bathrooms.

New Year's Renovation- Refurbishment Tips from CreoGlass
Another year is almost over and it's already time to start thinking about the next one. Perhaps 2013 will be the year you decide to get started on those home improvement projects you've dreamt of but never gotten round to executing. Why not make a New Year's Resolution
to have some of those renovations you've been thinking about taken care
of? Here are some ideas that we can offer to help you decide where to start:
Get a fresh start on the New Year with a fresh coat of paint. A new colour in just one room can make your whole house seem refreshed. Maybe there's an area of your home that's a little dark- by using a light, airy colour it immediately gives the illusion of more space and light.

- If it's you kitchen you're looking to improve, why not fit a glass splashback? A bold statement piece like one from our bespoke or Luxury Collection can revitalize the room, without having to replace all your counters, cupboards, appliances and worktops. Or you can follow the same idea as with paint, and choose from our Subtle Colours range to create a bright, clean kitchen.
- A few new pieces of furniture can also shake up a room. Is your coffee table looking somewhat tired? How about replacing it with a glass one? These are durable and easy to clean, and come in a range of stunning one of a kind designs. With a CreoGlass Table Top you can create your own affordable designer piece of furniture in matter of minutes. And if you're someone who likes to change things often- double sided table tops allow you to flip the glass panel and change the design instantly!
- Perhaps your wall is too bare- break up the colour with one of our bespoke mirrors. CreoGlass Mirror Collection is available in a limited number of units that we wish to produce creating a highly collectable range. With these one of a kind pieces, you will receive a certificate of authenticity as well as a 5 year warranty.
- Bathroom splashbacks are also rising in popularity, and for good reason too. Old tiles tend to fall of the walls and are difficult to replace, leaving you with the only option – to re-tile the whole bathroom. Bathroom Glass Splashbacks are not much different from Kitchen Glass Splashbacks as they offer the same array of colours and benefits. They are stylish, easy to clean and relatively fast to install. Our glass paints are water resistant which is one of the most important features due to long term water exposure. Glass materials also offers hygienic benefits – no grout no fungi! We also offer a large selection of standard patterns, which are applied onto the back of the glass creating contemporary stylish look in high gloss finish for years to come.
Simple Home Improvements: Kitchen
When redecorating your home, the kitchen is an ideal place to start; the space where you eat and prepare meals can bring effect other parts of your life, like diet you stick to or how tidy you are in other rooms. So here are some easy ways you can help improve the way your kitchen treats you.
- Consider the lighting of the room. Often overhead lighting is all you see in a kitchen, which can cast shadows over you when performing tasks in certain areas. Therefore task lighting is an easy fix; by using two light sources you eliminate the shadow, giving you a workstation with easier-to-see spaces that prevent eyestrain.
- Islands and counters: replacing a kitchen table with an island or breakfast bar is perfect for modernizing a kitchen, whilst maintaining a pleasant social spot for you, your friends, and your family. Kitchens with islands also have more opportunity for extra storage space and another workstation- great for if you're preparing big meals, or maybe even if you just like to spread out while you work.
- Update just one area at a time: it's no secret that redecorating a kitchen can rack up some high costs, so it's a good idea to stagger the improvements over a period of time. You can start small, for example instead of replacing entire cabinets, just change the doors and handles for a subtle refresh. Or you can change the look of your kitchen entirely in one motion by switching old tiles for a sleek glass splashback.
- Reorganize your storage spaces: there are countless creative ways to reduce clutter in your kitchen. You could use magazine racks to organize cans and tins on your pantry shelves, or mount a strong magnetic strip on the wall to stick big knives to. You could also redesign one of those pocket wall-hanging shoe organizers for your kitchen utensils instead of jamming them all into several drawers.
